Joanna Maria Rybczynska lives and creates her works in Warsaw, Poland.
She is a photographer and painter.
In the recognition of her work, she received honours conferred by the International Federation of Photographic Art (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique), an Excellence FIAP (EFIAP) in 2011 and an Artiste FIAP (AFIAP) a year before.
In 2012, her past photographic output was appreciated in Poland, where she received a Gold Medal "For Photographic Creative Work".
Between 1979 and 1981 - she worked as a visual artist and and graphic designer at the German Instiute of Culture in Warsaw (now Goethe Institue). In the 80s she also worked as a visual artist and graphic designer in the Old Town's House of Culture in Warsaw. Since 1985 she focused mainly on painting (easel painting, watercolor, pastel).
In the late 80s she concurently started her photographic work. Since 2003 she takes photographs using a digital technology. She is also interested in the lensless photography (pinhole, zone plate, zone sieve).
She was awarded over 40 prizes for her photographs. Her prizes include: 5 gold medals (Great Britain 2009, Serbia 2008, Croatia 2008, Austria/Qatar 2008), 2 silver medals ( Serbia 2011, Poland 2008), 3 bronze medals (USA 2010, Finland 2010, Serbia 2009), two I-st Prizes (Poland 2006, Poland 2007), II-nd Prize (Belgia 2010) and many more.
Her works were displayed at individual exhibitions: Brama Art Gallery - 2001 (Warsaw, Poland), Brama Art Gallery - 2002 (Warsaw, Poland), Teatr Ochoty - 2004 (Warsaw, Poland), Wisniowy Business Park - 2002 (Warsaw, Poland), Van Golik Art Gallery - 2009 (Warsaw, Poland), Zapiecek Art Gallery - 2009 (Warsaw, Poland), Traffic Club Art Gallery - 2011  (Warsaw, Poland), LTF Gallery of Photography - 2012 (Lodz, Poland).
Her paintings could be seen in Russia (2003) at the presigious exhibition Europastel, which obtained the Patronage of UNESCO and was under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
Her photographs were also displayed at over 100 collective exhibitions in Poland and in the world.
